I was so pleased to be invited back to Beloit College in Wisconsin to participate in the Weissberg Program, and deliver a lecture about climate change and its impacts on Inuit in Canada from a human rights and health sovereignty lens. If you’ll notice, the title was taken from Sheila Watt-Cloutier’s excellent book, The Right to Be Cold, which allowed a great discussion about her work, her book, and the activism and advocacy of Inuit across the North.
I was also thrilled to screen Attutaunijuk Nunami/Lament for the Land, and introduce a new audience to the voices and wisdom of Labrador Inuit. Thanks to everyone in Beloit for making me feel so welcome, and for caring so much about climate change in the Circumpolar North.
